2021 Repartee
Repartee is a subtle and sophisticated form of wit involving quick, snappy comebacks. Why name our Gamay Noir, a subtle and sophisticated wine, Repartee?
-
-We love all forms of wit and wine.
-
-It’s French.
-
-It rhymes with Gamay.
We firmly believe “it’s better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.”

2024 Los Angeles Invitational Wine Challenge - TruthTeller 2021 'Repartee' Gamay Noir - Best of Class | Double Gold | 97 points (February 27, 2024)
"Bright cherry. Appropriate finish. Nice varietal representation. Complex"

"Truthteller is nod to the Jester, who had the power to tell the truth to the King by using humor and entertainment. That said, many of their wines are "whimsical," as is this Gamay Noir. It's very light, zesty, and can easily make you smile. It's the complete opposite of most dark, brooding, heavier style wines. Instead expect a Pinot Noir like body, with bright red fruits like Bing Cherries and maybe even Pomegranate. The judges were pleasantly surprised that a Gamy from Washington, not France, could have this lift, freshness, and balance."
Pacific Northwest Wine Competition - Gold | 92 points (July 2023)
Northwest Wine Report (Sean Sullivan) - TruthTeller 2021 Repartee Gamay Noir Yakima Valley 90 points (March 25, 2024)
"This is a variety rarely seen in Washington. Aromas of strawberry gummy and Jolly Rancher lead to light, bright flavors. The concentration is dialed back, with an emphasis on elegance. It’s a pretty wine that is equal parts promise and delivery."
